We stayed here as a family of four and had booked thru booking.com for two rooms expecting them to be joined or at least next to each other.
When we arrived I discovered that the rooms were at opposite ends of the hallway and both had a double bed.
When the manager found out we had 2 children he managed to change the rooms so they were next to each other and 1 had 2 single beds for the children which was much appreciated.
The place was warm quiet and clean.
The only downside was the ceiling looked like it had multiple ruff repairs and the basin in our room had several cracks in it.
We stayed here another time about 9 years ago and would stay there again.

My blanket had blood stains which I have photos of and showed the cleaner plus weird stains on my sheets . It felt like there was cameras in the apartment and it wasn’t up to scratch at all so much grime in the corners etc. great location and friendly owner but it needs a massive update.

Shower opposite room 10 had really weak pressure and changing temp.

Friendly staff, great vibes, great times. The only place to stay in the Mount. Showers also elite.

Seagulls Guesthouse in Mount Maunganui is a quiet, tidy and well maintained place to stay. The common room areas are well equiped, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The location is great for those engaged in sport, with the Bay Oval nearby. Definitely recommend for those looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay.
I had a really good stay here. Right in the centre of Mount Maunganui itself, so everything is easily walkable. Free WiFi, rooms well equipped. It was nice surprise to find each room has its own heat pump that is extremely good at heating and cooling. There is electric locks that you can type your code in or use your mobile phone.
It is nice to know Paul takes pride in his business and also take guests safety very very seriously.
